In our first Splashes of Color post, we looked at various ways to use honeysuckle, which is the Pantone color of the year in 2011.

Last year’s color was turquoise, so I thought it would be a fun one to look at this week. Unfortunately, none of the design sites can really seem to agree on what turquoise actually looks like, so there’s some variety in these (I’m not sure about #5 and #8, but you could definitely use a truer turquoise in place of those colors!) to achieve a similar look!

TONS OF TURQUOISE!!! I got married in Santa Fe NM almost 20 years ago and thats what started my love affair with turquoise. I have it in every room of my house and I just added another bathroom- of course it has a painting on the wall with turquoise! I really am addicted to it, although I don’t have it in large doses…just small pieces EVERYWHERE! It really goes with everything!

By far Evernote is my favorite productivity app.  I use it for a what feels like a zillion things!  It’s on my phone, home computer & my HP Touchpad.

I know your list for free apps but if you had to add one that is a paid app then I’d say Convertr by Vervv.  Quick tell me how many feet are in a mile?  Or how many tablespoons in a 1/4 cup.  Or how about pints to quart?  Yeah sure we probably all once had these memorized in our lifetime but in a jiffy sometimes those numbers just do not come.  Well here is Convertr to save your brain.  Woo wee that was close!  I love this app for when I double recipes and just can’t think or when I’m at my CSA and all I have is a quart container and they just listed pints.

I am currently writing about a free app every Thursday on my blog.  So far, my two favorites are Cozi Family Organizer and ColorNote.  I’m constantly using both of them.  Thanks for the suggestions….it’s amazing how many apps there are and how many free ones, too!

There’s a free app daily on Amazon too; we share those each morning at jungledealsandsteals.com!

      Hi Carrie,

Thanks! Yeah, I adore COZI too, just that am in India and we don’t have the free version available here. Am waiting for it though. I will definitely swing by your site to check out your fave free apps too. Isn’t this SO much fun?!

Wow.  I love this.  It seems I have a constant dialogue in my head to not be afraid and to keep trying.  This post really spoke to me, thank you.
