Every fall I love to place pumpkins and mums to the front porch. It just adds warmth and welcome. God’s little autumn gift.
I can’t spend a lot of money on decor that will be thrown away as soon as the Christmas urge hits me, so I’ve broken down a the cost of using pumpkins in several ways.
From just $4 all the way up to $25+ here are some easy fall front porch ideas using just what you can get at the local store.
1. $4…just one pumpkin
Our superstore has pumpkins for less than $4. With just one pumpkin sitting in an unexpected spot, you can add a sweet fall look to the porch.

2. $6….one big, one small
In addition to the $4 pumpkin, they also sell little pumpkins. These are meant for baking pies, but they are also cute. Putting a small together with a bigger pumpkin creates dimension, instead of simply using 2 big pumpkins. Then I added a bow and some jute for a little extra charm.

3. $7…one pumpkin, one mum

Our superstore also sell mums for $3. I dropped the pot of mums into an old bucket (you could use a basket or just wrap the pot with ribbon) and set them together next to my front porch rocker and some plants I already owned.
What says welcome more than this?!

4. $16…two pumpkins and one fairy tale pumpkin
The fairy tale pumpkins are so beautiful! But at $8-$10 each it’s hard to justify buying too many of them. So mix one in with two of the cheaper pumpkins and let it be the star.

5. $18….a mammoth pumpkin, a fairy tale, a baking pumpkin and a couple of fakes from the dollar store.
My local warehouse club had giant pumpkins for only $9. Mine is so huge it almost required a crane to hoist it onto the porch. He (yes, I call my pumpkin he because he is so enormous he must be male) needed a spot to sit and watch over the other pumpkins. Sitting in a corner of a bench, he looks wonderfully welcoming.
If you’re piling pumpkins together, don’t forget to turn a few on their side to make it interesting.

6. $25…..one mammoth, 2 large and 2 mums
A vignette of fall nature by the front door is hard to resist. If you can spend $25, this looks really pretty.

7. $44….the whole kit ‘n kaboodle
OK, so, until I wrote this post I hadn’t added up how much I’ve spent this year on pumpkins and mums. Since I got them one or two at a time, it seemed like nothing. Let’s not mention this to my husband if he doesn’t ask, OK? He likes the porch and that’s what matters.

No matter what you can spend, you can add a little fall charm to your porch with some pumpkins.
