One of the things I remember from my earliest Christmases is decorating the banister in our home and hanging Christmas cards there as they arrived. It’s one of the Christmas traditions that we’ve adopted for our own family (now that we have a banister of sorts!), and it makes me incredibly happy to see all the Christmas cards hanging there as we count the days to Christmas.

Here are 9 other creative ways for displaying the holiday cards you receive!

We get alot of photo christmas cards. I put a hole punch on the corner of all the cards and slip them into a book ring. An easy way to flip thru all the cards.

I have an Angel tree and a Snowman tree that hold cards. I use those for photo cards and then tape all others to the breakfast bar. Once the holidays are over we put the cards in a basket and every night throughout the year at dinner time my boys each choose a card and we send good thoughts to that family.

I just tied a ribbon around a pretty banister pole in our living room and taped the cards up, it works, its pretty and you can see them all. :)

I just made the card tree with the dowel and the ribbon and it looks great! My daughter and I had lots of fun with it. I have a second set ready to go, as the old display we had was made by her when she was 5 and it is ready to be retired : ) GREAT suggestion, thank you!!!

Hey Michelle! Thanks for the encouragement and great questions!

Firstly, to me, I think that a homemaking blog is a great topic, as, even though you can cover a broad range of things it is still quite a specific niche.

Juggling multiple blogs is a very tricky business and I have tried and failed many times. I think it really depends where you want to go with things. For me right now, I have decided to take one topic (and blog) at a time. When that blog gets large enough I will bring on other people to help run it, and then move on to my next topic. This, however, may not work for everyone if it isn’t the direction you want to go in.

I think you need to take a look at the reasons why you want to blog, what is the end goal? Is it for satisfaction, to make money, to share knowledge?

Perhaps reply with some thoughts and we can talk further! :)
